Thanksgiving

This post is a bit late, but thanksgiving was yesterday, yay! You might be wondering why a young kiwi girl would be celebrating thanksgiving, well we have lots of american families in our church, so we do a small gathering of families from church, and all enjoy turkey, and pecan pie together.

Right before i went to thanksgiving, I had my schools big fair, and although I tried super hard not to buy food while I was there, I ended up getting stuff anyway. So by the time I got to thanksgiving, I had already eaten a bit, making it super hard to finish my meal. By the time I got my dessert, I was SUPER full, so each mouthful was a mission! My favourite foods this year was the chicken dressing, pretzel salad, and chocolate pie.

So what was I thankful for this year? This year has gone crazy fast, but at the same time, it feels like it's been forever. I've learned a lot this year, and had plenty of different experiences. But i have to say this year I am really thankful for:

-Branching out more, with friends, with school, with church. I've done lots more this year, and gotten myself involved in heaps of different things. It's helped me feel more confident, and less anxious when I am put in different situations.

-Family. I've come to truly appreciate my family, and our family dynamic this year. I suppose it's because we've had a few interruptions this year, whether it was home stays, or grandparents, there seemed to always be someone there, so those few moments when its just me, my parents, and my siblings, we all relax, and its such a refreshing feeling to just sit down and laugh with family.

-School. As I come closer to NCEA, and exams, I also realize that school actually isn't a bad thing. My class has become it's on, fun, little community, and we can be completely comfortable, joking around, performing, or even mucking up in front of each other. In school you become friends with people, who are completely different to you, and it can really help put you on track. I've loved seeing, and hearing different peoples opinions, and reactions in class, because it reminds me that I'm not always right, and sometimes I need to take a step back and really think about what I'm doing.

-Older people in the church. I used to really dislike older people, cause they always seemed so condescending, and there's nothing I hate more than condescension. But I've started to realize that they are wiser, and more experienced, and maybe I should listen to them instead of rolling my eyes every time they talk. (I'm still working on the not rolling eyes thing)

-Jesus Christ! I've started understanding the bible more, and started praying more this year, and its just the best thing. It's amazing how I can be stressed out and anxious, but the second I pray, the Lord calms me right down. My love for him has really grown this year, and I know that it will keep growing in years to come.

Obviously there's a lot more to be thankful for; a roof over my head, clothes, shoes, dinner every night and all those little things we take for granted, but I wanted to list some of the bigger things for me.

Thanks for reading, I'm also thankful for you!

Mt Heron - Weekend Getaway

I'm not usually one for camping, or fishing, or anything super outdoorsey, and I never have the time or the equipment to do anything anyway. But since this weekend was show week, and we had Friday off, my church organised a simple, fishing camp, and although my usual long weekends are spent curled up in bed with a good book or movie, I decided to go along with my family.

It was only a couple of hours away, and luckily for me, we've had plenty of experience when it comes to road trips, so the drive was actually pretty fun and relaxing. It was already pretty dark when we got there, so we had to set up our tents, and get ready for bed pretty quickly. Since it was dark when we arrived, I had no idea what type of view to expect in the morning, so I went to bed excited for the morning (and the good photo opportunities it would bring with it). I was not disappointed the next morning, when I woke up to the glittering lake, with the gorgeous, snow capped mountains behind them.
I spent the morning out on the kayak, giving the younger kids rides around the lake (My arms are now still sore from the exercise) and soaking up the warm sun. I even took a wee dip in the lake, despite everyone saying it was a crazy idea. After drying off, myself and a few other kids went down to the lake to do some actual fishing. It was beautiful and relaxing our in the warm, fresh, mountain air fishing with the spectacular view of the mountains.
Around 2 pm i had an extreme energy slump, and spent the rest of the afternoon either lying in the shade, or in my tent reading and sleeping. I did go out for a bit more fishing in the evening, but I didn't end up catching any fish, instead I got my hook stuck in a tree. So that was it for me, I stayed in the tent chatting with some other families from church, nibbling on marshmallows.
I woke up pretty early the next morning, when the wind almost blew my tent down the hill we were perched on. Turned out being woken up wasn't such a bad thing though, as I was able to witness an amazing sunrise, and even get a few pictures. It was much colder that morning, so only a few people went out to fish again, and the rest of us started to pack up and get ready to go.
It didn't take us long to get all packed up, and soon we were on our way back home. It was a short, but sweet trip, and a very nice step back from our social media crazed society. The only thing I was sorry to miss, was the new, one direction  album release.

I want to write you a song,
Temporary fix

Although I really do love all of their new songs!

Lush So White Bath Bomb Review (Christmas)

Lush has their Christmas stuff in yay! Unfortunately for me, my funds are a little low, as I am saving for Christmas presents and travel, so I was only able to buy one thing when I was there.
I was tied between this bath bomb, and the 'shoot for the stars' bath bomb, in the end I went with the 'so white' bomb because I've heard lots of good things about it.

Now in every review I've ever seen on this bomb, people always say it smells like fresh apples. So when I sniffed this I was expecting something like the head and shoulders apple shampoo. It wasn't quite as fresh as that, I think it was a lot more festive, and rich smelling than I was expecting. That being said, I did love the scent. I couldn't stop sniffing it all the way home. It's not as sweet as the other Christmas products, but still festive which I loved.

It also does something completely unexpected when you put it in the bath, it turns pink! Big win for me, as I love almost anything pink. As it fizzes away, it loses the white shell, and reveals its true, rosy pink, self.It also has some yummy bath oils to make your skin nice and soft which I loved. The bath oils were also pink fitting in very well with the theme.
It was very pretty to watch as it fizzed away, and turned the water pink.

I loved the scent, the colour, and the oils. It was one of my favourite Christmas products. It doesn't quite beat my ultimate favourite bomb, the blackberry bath bomb (Which is available all year round), but it came awfully close!
I would definitely recommend this to people, especially someone who is new to lush since it isn't overly sweet or strong smelling. Next time your near your local lush, be sure to pop in and get this one!

School Dance

Hello, this is very late, as my school dance was like a month ago, but here it is.

Every year my school has its year 9&10 dance, and there is always a massive hype about it the weeks leading up to it. Girls are talking about where they bought their dresses from, and who has the the same dress as who.
There's also who is going with who. We don't actually do dates at the dance and have couple pictures or anything, but there's still a massive hype.
I personally love the hype before, during, and after the dance. It helps you get through term 3, which I find is often the most boring term of the year, because it gives you something to look forward too.
Sadly this was my last year for the dance, as I am in year 10. Now I have to wait two years for formal :(

My dress was $30 from Trendz. I absolutely LOVED it. I was however a little nervous about wearing it since it's a lot longer than most dance dresses, and I thought the pattern was quite out there. It turned out fine, and I got multiple complements, which was unexpected.

My shoes were $20 from No. 1 shoe warehouse. It took quite a long time to find a shoe that would look good with my dress, luckily we found these baby blue heels. I loved these as well, they matched the dress well, made my feel pretty, and showed my personality. (That sounds so cheesy)

All in all it came to $50. I was expecting to spend more like $150, so of course I was extremely happy with that outcome. I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to wearing the dress, or the shoes again, which may seem like a waste of $50, but compared to the amounts other girls spent on their dresses, I think it was alright.

Spring/ Summer

This post is a little delayed considering its been spring for around a month (at least in the southern hemisphere is has), but whatever. Spring has Sprung! And with now spring here I can't help but get excited for summer. Summer is probably my favourite time of year. I just love the long, warm evenings sitting outside chatting with my family. Not to mention holidays, that's always a bonus.

I also love the spring/summer fashion. You no longer have to spend $100 on a coat, instead you could by 3 or 4 light singlets. Everything is much more affordable, and casual. I feel like there is a lot less pressure when it comes to summer fashion as well.
I recently had a wee shop on boohoo, and now already have some things ready for summer which has made me even more excited for summer!

This summer me and my best friend are planning a trip up to the Gisborne to visit my grandparents, and I cannot wait. We will most likely spend each day taking long walks up the many great beaches Gisborne has too offer, swimming, shopping, and just generally relaxing. This will also lead to lots of photos which I will probably share with you when the time comes.

What are your plans for the summer? And what are your thoughts on summer fashion? I would love to hear in the comments.

P.s. I am in love with the new One Direction song Infinity! It's such a cute one, make sure you listen to it. :)

The blogging feels

Hey hey, a couple of things have happened recently which have made me really think about blogging and the effect its had on me.
For one, I accidentally shared an Instagram photo from  on my personal/private Facebook account. That may not sound like a massive deal to most people, but this is anonymous blog, it's more personal, and I prefer to keep it just to myself, and others who I don't personally know from around the world. So when all these people I knew from school and things suddenly started following me and liking my pictures on my blog account I freaked out, and deactivated the account.

As well as deactivating the Instagram account, I deleted a lot of my past posts, because I suddenly got very insecure about people I know reading my blog posts.

I was tempted to delete this blog completely, but the thought of not having this blog really upset me. It seems really silly since I don't get many page views, and next to no comments, but this blog has been something I could work for. After each blog post I feel very happy with myself and like I've actually accomplished something, which is way better than wasting my time on Instagram or Facebook.

It's a small little outlet for me which I love and enjoy. I will probably make another Instagram account in the future, and possibly even an account on Twitter or Facebook. We'll just have to wait and see.
Thank you to those people who take the time to read my probably boring blog posts. it won't seem like much to anyone else, but those couple of page views a day really do make me feel accomplished and valued.

Summer Bucket List

Hey, for those of you in the northern hemisphere summer is almost over, but for the rest of us in the southern hemisphere, summer is just about here! I am so ready for summer, winter's been a drag with no snow.
The other day my best friend (I think I called her lala in a previous post?) sat down and wrote a wee bucket list. We're going to try our hardest to get all of these done, but even if we don't it's just nice to have something to look forward to right now.

So here it is, our summer bucket list:

-Make Homemade Ice Cream
I've never actually done this before, but I really want too. I think it would be super fun to make, and can't wait to give it a shot

-Use travels to glorify God

-Spend an entire day watching Disney movies
I'm thinking this will be perfect for a rainy day.

-Sleep on a trampoline (soo fun!)

-Read romantic novels
Pride and Prejudice, Girl Online, Redemption. Whatever it is, there will be so much free time to get reading. Why not?

-Go on a road trip with friends

-Participate in a colour run

-Stay up all Night

-Go a day without cellphones
Not sure if I can actually do this, haha, but I'll try.

-Dress up one day for no reason
I'm sure there will be plenty of selfies taken on this day. It's nice to dress up and feel pretty every now and again.

-Have amazing Christmas decorations
Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year, and I love getting the lights out and decorating the tree.

-Make a summer SQUAD
Who doesn't love a good squad? I want to be extra social this summer, and a squad is the perfect way to do so.

-Get in touch with old friends
This is a bit more personal, but for us it's old camp friends who live in other cities. We spent so much time with all of them, and now hardly ever talk, I think it will be lovely to talk to them all again, and maybe even meet up.

-Write a song
This isn't for everyone, but we love doing covers and things, so we thought we'd try it out. This doesn't have to be restricted to a song. Do some painting, photography, dance, writing etc. We want to do something creative and productive and this is it for us.

-Go stargazing in the middle of nowhere
Driving out into the country, with pillows and blankets, and bundling up under stars, maybe bring along some M&M's and it's perfect.

-Go to Hanmer at least twice
Hanmer is a small town with really popular hot pools and hydro slides. Since not everyone lives close to Hanmer, I'd suggest the nearest water park or public pools.

-Get a decent tan
Lets be honest, this is everyone's summer goal.

-Watch fireworks

-Make a campfire
S'MORES!!! Seriously though, campfires are the best.

-Make some new friends
Whether it's through church, or just through a friend, Summer is the perfect time to get social and meet new people.

-Buy a whole watermelon and eat it
I love watermelon, and this will bring some pretty cool Instagram photos.

-Have a water fight
Because no summer is complete without one.

-Donate money to charity
We have this awesome organisation that allows us to buy presents for children in third world countries to receive on Christmas day, but getting involved with any charity would be super cool. It also makes you much happier than only doing stuff for yourself.

That's it. There's a few ideas for the up and coming summer.I cannot wait for summer to start! I'd love to hear your summer plans in the comments.

Lush Review: Blackberry Bath Bomb & Pop in the bath Bubble Bar

Hello everyone, these are the last of the lush products from my small lush haul. The first of these is the blackberry bath bomb.
I love, love, love this bath bomb. Everything from it's colour to scent is uplifting and refreshing. I wouldn't say it smells blackberry-ish though.
When I dropped this into my bath it fizzed away quite quickly, and left me with amazingly vibrant violet water (It doesn't stain the bath or your body). I just love this, it is really good for after a long, hard day. And even when I didn't use it, it was so nice to come sit in my room, and have the smell of my bath bomb dispersed all through my room. This is definitely one of my favourites.

The second product is the pop in the bath bubble bar. For ages this was my absolute favourite lush bath product, but I think I over used it, and slowly have found new favourites.
It has a very fresh, kind of fruity scent, but not sugary sweet. It of course leaves you in a blanket of bubbles which is always a plus, and ever so slightly tints the water blue. It doesn't smell that strong, which I think is one of the reasons I don't like it quite as much as before.
Since it's a bubble bar, it can be used more than once, meaning you get more bang for your buck, which is another bonus.
Out of the two of these products, I would recommend the bath bomb, because it is so much more uplifting. It left me feeling happy, and refreshed. The bubble bar does that too, but its not as effective as the bomb. I love both of these products though, and will be using both of them again, guaranteed.

Hope you enjoyed this wee post, I will continue to do lush reviews until I run out of products, so there shouldn't be any shortage.

Lush Review: Melting Marshmallow Moment Bath Melt

Hello everybody, recently my lush stock has been running low, so i popped in to my local lush and bought a few things. I only actually got three things, but that should be enough to last for a while. As soon as I got home, I couldn't wait to use some of my new products (all bath products). The first one I used was the melting marshmallow moment bath melt. Sorry for the bad photo, I quickly took a photo on my phone before having my bath.

On the packaging it says: "Mmm melt into pink, a fluffy bed of marshmallow and mega moisturizing cocoa butter." Doesn't that just sound amazing? I have used this one before, the first time I used it I remember being kinda disappointing  because it smelled less like marshmallow and more like those fizzer lollies, but I've gotten over that now, and really like this bath melt.
When you put it in the bath, it slowly melts/fizzes away leaving the bath a sweet smelling, pink colour. I didn't really notice extremely moisturized  skin, but that doesn't really matter. It isn't my favourite lush product, but it was really nice, and I definitely will use it again. Comment your favourite lush products, and expect some more reviews soon.

My Style Inspiration

Hello, for this blog post, I thought i would share the three people who really inspire my clothes and outfits. They are all quite different, and I kinda meet in the middle of them. I would say that with my own personal style I aim for more classy, feminine clothing, and you will probably be able to tell with these people. I'd like to apologize in advance for all the photos, there are heaps!

Blair Waldorf:
For those of you who don't know, she was one of the main characters in Gossip Girl. She has a very elegant, feminine style that I really love. She almost never wheres pants, and always dresses quite modestly. One of her classic "Blair" accessories is a headband. She always wheres colour, and owns her own personal style. Since the show isn't filming I kind of just incorporate her style into what I wear.

Zoella:
I think there isn't one teenage girl who doesn't look up to Zoe. I love her effortless, cute, girly, and fun clothing choices. She is unique in her style, and is happy to embrace that, She also makes some slightly more elegant outfits, and gives lots of tips for people on a tighter budget. She also does really lovely make up, and I get lots of ideas from her. She is a great role model, and I love her.

  Lauren Conrad:
It was Lauren's book, Style, that first got me thinking about my own style and what I love. She has really girly clothing, and designs her own lines of clothing. Her lines are quite often based on Disney, which I love. Sometimes she goes out in slightly shorter stuff that I wouldn't wear, but her books are really helpful for developing your own style. She also has quite classic make up which I like.

So there it is my three main inspirations, I hope you enjoyed seeing what I like, and maybe got some ideas for yourself. Would Love to hear who you like clothing wise!

Autumn Holidays

Hello, sorry I have not been blogging much, but for the past two weeks its been the autumn holidays. I have mostly just been relaxing, and just having a good time, so blogging has not been a main focus. However, school is back and so am I.

So at this point you may be asking what could have kept me so busy (or relaxed) over the holidays that I didn't even think to blog. Well if that's what you were thinking, I was away on a camp in Waihola, Waihola is a small town settled next to a lake, and the town is 30 minutes south of Dunedin. It is one of my favorite places in the world, and is the perfect getaway from a stressful year.

We had to drive to Waihola which took over 5 hours, with all my family crammed into one car, but the drive down was actually really enjoyable, and when we got to Waihola it had snowed! We were so excited because it hasn't snowed where we live for years! I t also snowed the next day, so we had two lovely days of snowmen, and sleds, and snowball fights. I actually ended up with a grazed eyeball from that snowball fight haha.

There were lots of activities like flying fox, horse riding, sledding etc. But even without the activities I would have had a great time with my friends. Most of the camp we were giggling and just enjoying ourselves so it was like the perfect week.

The lake and the landscapes are all so beautiful, and its also a christian camp, so that's a bonus. The camp had a real focus on parents, but it did have some really good points about women and our glory, and our downfall:

-We are all beautiful
-We always expect too much from our husbands
-We expect too much because we were made for more, we were made for God.

Those were just some of the points, he had plenty more, and it has really inspired me to try to be more understanding of others.

If there was anyway you could get to Waihola I would thoroughly recommend it, even if you didn't go to the campsite, the little town is really lovely as well.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I would love to hear what you did in the holidays, or what you are planning for the next one.

Easter Lush Products

Yes just like on valentines weekend, I could not resist the special lush bath products. Again I could only choose two, so I got the Golden Egg bath melt/ballistic, and the Immaculate Eggception bath bomb in pink.

 The Golden Egg bath melt/ballistic:
Before I even put it in the bath I was in like heaven. This smelled so good. I think it was the same scent as "Honey I Washed the Kids" I am definitely going to look into that now, because I looove this scent. When I put it in the bath the first layer melted away leaving yummy ingredients that are good for the skin, and then the second layer slowly fizzed away leaving the bath a really bright, pretty much neon yellow. I always find it a little bit awkward with a yellow bath, like I feel like I'm bathing in pee, but even with that feeling, I really enjoyed it. I also think that this is a super lovely way to celebrate Easter, like does this not scream victory to you?
The Immaculate Eggception bath bomb:
This one I thought smells like the cinders bath bomb from the Christmas selection, so really nice, and simple. It fizzed away almost instantly leaving the bath a nice pink colour, that you would expect from this bath bomb. The other good thing about this is you can break it open, and ther is a little chick inside, so with the broken pieces you can have multiple baths. It was really relaxing and comfortable, and I am looking forward to using us again.

Hope you enjoyed this post

John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Easter

This post is reaaally late, but it got here in the end. I have been blogging less lately because its holidays, so I kinda just flop and do nothing the whole time. I did do something really special for Easter though. Every year my family , and some of our friends wake up at like 5, and then go to the beach where we have a dawn service. It is so beautiful, and I think is the perfect way to celebrate Jesus rising from the dead. It also has quite a triumphant feel to it. I don't know, I just love it.

My Mum took this photo. We have a little wooden cross that we decorate with flowers, and put in the sand. This year it was quite cloudy, so we didn't really get a good view of sunrise, not so victorious, but it was still really lovely. We always go swimming afterwards, and I have to say, the water was soo nice and warm, even in autumn, and there was no wind, so I didn't freeze when I got out.

I just love this small little annual meeting for Easter, and would definitely encourage other people to do it, it is just so perfect!

Amesmames xx

P.s. I will be doing a post on the Easter lush stuff really soon as well

Romans 6:23. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

My birthday!!!

Yup, I am officially 14 years old! It has been a strange year, I feel like I have matured more this year than any other in so many ways. I have experienced some of the Lords amazing power, I have also experienced mild depression, I have had my eyes opened to society, and popularity. I have enjoyed this year, but it's bittersweet, I would gladly go back to being an innocent and oblivious 5 year old.

I thought I would share some of the things I got for my birthday:

Moroccan Oil:
My hair is SUPER dry and curly and untamed. Every time I go to the hair dresser they tell me to get Moroccan oil, but I've never really gotten round to it. I'm excited to see how this goes, and if I notice a difference I will most likely do a more detailed post on it. I am hoping it will help my dry situation.

Tangleze:
It's pretty much a tangle teaser, but cheaper, another good one for dry hair because it doesn't have little baubles at the end of each bristle. The little baubles on other brushes cause hair breakage.

Butterfly Pegs:
I have been planning on getting fairy lights, and using cute clips to hang photos on the lights with, so my best friend, lala in other posts, bought me some gorgeous pegs from typo. These will not go to waste, and as soon as I get everything sorted out I will do a post!

Lush Shampoo Bar:
This smells AMAZING!!! It lingers in the bathroom for ages And Looks like it will last for about the same amount of time as a normal bottle of shampoo which I wasn't expecting, I have already used it once, and although my hair wasn't as nice as per usual, but I'm hoping that my hair will get used to it, and soon I will notice the difference.

For my party, I went out with some of my friends for dessert. It was so amazing!! We went to Strawberry Fare, so it was super expensive, and I had to pay some as well. But I think it was worth it! It was just a lovely night out. There was one crack up moment when the waitress came out with my dessert, and so I started eating the swirly caramel bit, Another waitress came out and said "We gave you the wrong one," so I turn around and look at her while stuffing my face with caramel! The second one she gave me had happy birthday written with chocolate, and a candle, so I loved it.

Hope you liked this post

Review: Lush Candy Mountain

Hello everybody, welcome back to my blog. This is the final review I have from my lush haul a few weeks back ( which you can view here). It is the Candy Mountain bubble bar.
This is such a cute wee bubble bar, literally a mountain of shimmering, pink and white swirls. It produces piles of bubbles, and leaves the water a pretty pink.
As well as looking completely adorable, it smells amazing. It's the same scent as the snow fairy body wash, which I would highly recommend by the way, so its very sweet, but perfect for Christmas time.
I would definitely recommend this bubble bar, it would make a lovely Christmas present, or it would be great for a pamper evening to treat yourself!

Review: Lush Cinders Bath Bomb

This one smells just like Christmas. Sweet, spicy, and if it makes sense a kind of warm smell. It makes you feel cozy, and relaxed, and the popping candy makes the sound of a crackling fire. The only downside, was the colour it turned the bath, an unfortunate orange-yellow, that made it look like you had peed in the bath. But once you get past that, it is an extremely enjoyable bath. It's not my favorite bath bomb, but it's still lovely, and Christmasy.

Amesmames xx

Lush Review: Christmas penguin bubble bar

I love this bubble bar!! It smells just like the pop in the bath bubble bar, which is my favourite lush product.
It turned the bath a really lovely but not in your face light blue, and with all the white bubbles, I felt like I was in some kind of winter wonderland!.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who cant handle the really strong scents, but also someone who just wants to relax.

Book Review: Girl Online and Love Tanya

I have been looking forward to reading these books, as soon as I found out that Zoe and Tanya were writing books. I was given Girl Online as a Christmas present, and Love Tanya as an early birthday present. I am SUPER proud of my two favorite Bloggers/You-tubers!!!

 Love Tanya:
I really like this book, it has heaps of great advice, and gives you an insight into her life. It was really well written, and even though she had a bit of help, which she admitted, you could tell that Tanya had put a lot of work into it. It was really cool to find out her story, and how she got to the place she is now. Really the book is a celebration of the things she loves, and the fears, and anxiety that she has overcome. It was quite similar to the Lauren Conrad books, Beauty, and Style, two of my favorite books!

 Girl Online:
Another great book. It had a really cute story, and although it wasn't like an autobiography you could sort of see how blogging had helped Zoe, as the main character was very similar to her. Not gonna lie, some parts were slightly cliche, but on a whole it was a really lovely story, with good morals. This book was ghost written as well only Zoe did not admit to it. But you could see in all her vlogs and things, that she had put a lot of effort into it, and I think she really tried her best. I really like it, and am looking forward to the next book

P.s. I'm thinking about doing my top ten reads, let me know what you think

22 February

Four years ago today a terrible earthquake ripped through Christchurch leaving it in ruins. It doesn't seem that long ago but at the same time it feels like a decade. I remember exactly where I was when it happened, and every little detail afterwards. My story isn't all that dramatic, and I didn't lose anyone close to me, thank goodness, but I thought I would share my story.

I was walking across the court at school, over to my friends, when the world around me began shaking. It grew and grew into a huge earthquake. I remember not knowing what to do or where to go, so I ran and clung onto a pole for dear life. The teachers quickly rushed us to our classrooms where we sat and waited. We were sent out in pairs to get our bags, I watched people go out waiting for my turn. When it was my turn the next big aftershock arrived. Me and my buddy grabbed our bags, and ran back to the classroom.

I probably sat there for half an hour before my mum came and picked my and my siblings up. There was silt everywhere! We left school and went to one of our family friends houses where my mother and younger siblings had been at the time. My older sister was at a different school, and arrived later on. The only person who had not arrived was my dad. He was at his office right in the center of town, one of the places where the earthquake hit worst.

For the first few hours we couldn't get a hold of him. No one was really sure what was going, until dad finally managed to call mum. He was stuck in his building 17 stories up, not sure how, or when he and his workmates would get out. They were not top priority, because none of them were injured, and they could be put off for a while. I remember hiding under the table, where no one could see me, and crying not sure when or if my dad would ever come home. I seems silly now because it was almost definite that he would, but I was so scared at the time.

We all sat and watched TV in horror as they slowly showed more, and more of the damage, so many deaths, so much beautiful architecture destroyed, and so much fear spread around the city. My dad was eventually rescued by a crane, and we got to watch the whole rescue on TV. We stayed off school for two weeks, and for at least one week the only thing that appeared on the news was Christchurch. My dads story was shared in a magazine, and we all got our picture in it, so there you go, my claim to fame.

Four years on a lot has changed, I have grown in confidence, and Christchurch has slowly but surely started rebuilding. We have all become a closer community, and have more respect for each other. I was extremely lucky to walk away with everyone I loved still around, hopefully for years more. I will remember this and be thankful for the rest of my life, and every year say a silent prayer for those who were lost that tragic day. But I will also remember how much life can change in a few seconds, and be that much more prepared.

Sorry for such a deep post, but I wanted to share my respects, See you next time.

Luxury Lush Pud Review

This bath bomb is soo nice! It smells really nice, like i almost wanted to eat it, it smelt so good. When I dropped it in the bath all the coloured bits came out and fizzed on their own, which I really liked. It was like having lots of mini bath bombs all in one.

It fizzed away quite quickly, and left the bath a pink that wasn't as bright as the bomb before it was dropped in the bath, but still a lovely colour.

The bath was just super relaxing, and made me feel calm, and inspired. It also kinda stuck with the valentines theme this week ;)

I would definitely recommend this to anyone, it was relaxing, nice colour, smellt nice, and was everthing I would look for in a bath bomb. But it was limited addition meaning you can only get it at Christmas time :( hopefully it will be there next year!

The Best Time of Day

One of my favourite things, in the world, is sunset and dusk. I just love long drawn out summer evenings with long mild walks with the family, and church events spent in gardens with friends talking until dark. But I also love cozy winter evening, watching classic movies or reading till the wee hours in the morning all wrapped up in blankets.

Everything just feels better in the evening, when the day is winding down, and there's nothing to worry about. I guess it's also because when I was little at Christmas time my whole family used to sit out and talk till ten which at the time was VERY late. I feel like when you talk at dusk, you just talk about all the deep stuff, and become inspired for the next day, or week.

I don't know what makes it a better time to plan, read, and watch, but I just love it :)

P.s Lush review tomorrow hopefully ;)

Valentines Lush Review

The Lush valentines stuff came out, and I got my self to the nearest lush store as fast as possible. I could only buy two so I bought the; Love Locket Bath Bomb, and the Floating Flower Bath Bomb. So I was super excited to have two nice relaxing baths, in a row on the weekend, and then we had athletics day at school, and I got sooo sun burnt!! Mum decided to keep me home from school the next day. I was so sun burnt that I couldn't have a lush bath on the weekend/valentines day!

Floating Flower Bath Bomb:
This one smells AMAZING!! It is super floral, and quite strong, but not overpowering. When you put it in your bath, it leaves a vibrant, colorful foam, which I loved. When it fizzed away, which was after quite a long time, the bath was a lovely, festive, pink.  It is a really fresh and relaxing smell, and I absolutely love it!

Love Locket Bath Bomb:
I am really sorry to say, that I got super excited with this one, and forgot to take a picture before I put it in the bath. This one smells really nice. It's a nice refreshing, and uplifting smell, that again is strong, but not overpowering. It fizzes away quite quickly actually, and leaves a bright pink bath with little pink hearts all around the place. I absolutely love it and I think that having this bath on valentines day would be the perfect way to celebrate!

Hope you enjoyed this little review, I will still do the weekly Christmas reviews.

Lush Review: Magic Wand

This was the main one I wasn't sure about, because the smell was kinda strange to me, but in the bath the smell was light and not to over powering. When I swirled it around the bath it was super creamy and fun to watch, but I ended up having to brake of a piece because there wasn't enough bubbles. I felt like I was bathing in candyfloss, so that's a yes from me.

Review: Lush Dashing Santa

This was one of the few lush products from my haul that I wasn't sure about, however I loved it. It made my bath bright red, and smelled lovely. Not sure if I would call it festive, but amazing none the less. There was a little bit of shimmer in it too, so that was great. I really like it when bath bombs have sparkles, because there is something to entertain you will you relax. It wasn't a stand out product, but it was on a whole pretty good, so yeah I would recommend this one :)

Lush Haul!!

Yes, I'm another blogger who loves lush!! I found out about lush, by watching Zoella's lush hauls, and can't get enough of it. Unfortunately I'm only thirteen and don't have enough money to be buying constantly, but I have been enjoying lush baths once a week.
I popped into my local lush store, and they had randomly been shipped the last of the christmas bath stuff, and all the christmas stuff was half price!!!! I went mad in the shop, sniffing everything, and picking up all the bath goods, Here is what I ended up with:

Luxury Lush Pud (Bath Ballistic)
I love this bath bomb it's pink, it smells amazing (Kind of like caramel, not sure if thats what they were going for),  and I can't wait to try it!!!

Holly go lightly (Bubble Bar)
I got this one as a christmas present, as you can see it has been used multiple times, which is always a good sign. When I first smelled it , I wasn't too sure, it smelt too musky and spicy for me, but when I used it I loved it. The smell is not over powering at all, and it turns your bath a lovey, festive green. I highly recommend this.
Cinders (Bath Ballistic)
I have heard sooo many good reviews about this, but never bothered to pick it up until now. It smells like orange and cinnamon, and it has popping candy in it, to imitate the sound of a crackling fire? It is rather small, but thats the only downside so far.

Dashing Santa (Bath Ballistic)
This little guy is sooo cute, It's a Santa!!! Not really sure what I think about the smell yet, but hopefully I will love it.
Magic Wand (Bubble Bar)
I really like the look of this one. It's pink, it has a bell, it's a star. All good things if your girly like me. But I'm not sure about the smell, I think it will smell better in the bath, because that's what it's meant for.
The Christmas Penguin (Bubble Bar)
Soo cute!! It smells like my favourite lush product, the pop in the bath bubble bar. It is super cute, and should be able to be re-used. Super excited to try this one!
Candy Mountain (Bubble Bar)
I really like the smell of this, it kind of smells like the comforter bubble bar, or if you haven't tried that, like red licorice. It's pink, so immediately gets a yes from me. Another one I can't wait to try!

Hoped you liked this little haul, I will be doing review on every product, so you can see how the if-y ones turn out :)
